Directions:
-
Preheat and Prepare: Start by
pre-heating your oven broiler to medium-high. (if you’re using the
oven see recipe card at bottom) Pat the Pork Chops dry with a
paper towel to remove any excess moisture. This will help the
seasoning stick. Season both sides generously with salt, pepper,
and garlic powder. Set aside while you prepare the honey garlic
sauce.
-
Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: In a
bowl combine the honey, garlic cloves, apple cider vinegar, and a
pinch of red pepper flakes (optional, for a slight kick). Stir
until everything is well combined and the honey has fully
dissolved. This sauce will be the key to the dish’s sweet and
savory flavor.
-
Sear the Pork Chops: Heat a large
skillet over medium-high heat and add in the olive oil. When hot,
place the pork chops in the pan. Sear each side for 4-5 minutes
until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature of
the pork should reach 145°F (63°C). Remove and set aside.
-
Create the Glaze: In the same
skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the Honey Garlic Sauce
mixture to the pan, scraping any browned bits from the bottom for
extra flavor. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring
occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
-
Coat the Pork Chops: Return the
cooked pork chops to the skillet, turning them in the sauce to
ensure they are evenly coated. Let them simmer in the sauce for
another 2-3 minutes. For extra flavor, grab a spoon and coat some
of the glaze over the pork chops as they cook periodically.
-
Serve and Enjoy: Once the pork chops
are fully coated in the sticky, glossy glaze, remove them from the
heat. Serve the pork chops hot, garnished with fresh chopped
parsley or green onions for a touch of color and freshness.
Pair a variety of side dishes to complete your meal. Try serving
them with Fried Fried Rice with Bacon or a low-carb option like
Cauliflower Fried Rice.
